May is Mental Health Month! Mental Health Month was established in 1949 to raise awareness of mental health conditions and to promote mental wellness for all.
The American Psychiatric Association reports that factors that reduce stigma include increased openness about personal experiences with mental illness, more mental health information being available online and public figures and celebrities talking about their experiences with mental illnesses.
